About the project

Sarah Deléan, a corporate lawyer, works for a major firm representing a Canadian mining company. Just as she is about to finalize the acquisition of a mine on Quebec’s North Shore, she learns that a woman living near her mother’s home has been murdered. As she looks into the matter, Sarah quickly realizes that troubling connections link her to the crime, and suspicious deaths begin to multiply around her. She decides to pursue her own investigation, which takes her from Mexico to Guatemala, where she crosses paths with investigator Émile Lebeau. Together, they uncover controversial mining practices with serious economic and environmental consequences. Torn between loyalty to her professional circle, which includes her fiancé, and the need to defend the public interest, Sarah must confront a profound moral dilemma and choose where she stands.
